Grass Lake Proposal Update
The Proposed development of 88 units on Grass Lake was approved by Dysart et al council and Haliburton County Council in May 2023. On June 8, 2023, LKO was informed that The Friends of Grass Lake have decided to launch an appeal of these decisions and are making application to the Ontario Land Tribunal. Friends of Grass Lake would appreciate assistance and financial support from LKO members, if their appeal moves forward.
Proposed Grass Lake Land Development
A revised proposal was submitted to Dysart et al on May 10, 2022 Consultant’s Consolidated Response Addressing Public Comments.pdf (dysartetal.ca) and the letter of opposition from the Friends of Grass Lake Letter of Opposition_Final.pdf (dysartetal.ca). LKO continues to be concerned about development in the wetland and the adequacy of protection measures to ensure the water quality of our lake.
The LKO sent a letter to Dysart et al and Haliburton County in August 2021 regarding the proposed land development on Grass Lake just south of County Road 21 on Peninsula Road. Click here for a copy of this letter.
