Since 1963 cottagers on Lake Kashagawigamog have come together a few Saturdays every summer to hold a sailing regatta. They came together with a variety of boats and different levels of skill but with great enthusiasm and the love of being on the water. They met afterwards for beers at a “weepers” to complain about wind shifts, waves and other boats that surely were the reason why they didn’t win that day. A community formed and generations have memories of growing up with the sailing club.

Saturday June 29th the tradition continues. The first regatta of the season will take place at 2 pm and we invite all sailors and boats to join us for an afternoon of fun. I have noticed an increase in sailboats on the lake recently and hope these sailors will join us and give the club a try.
